    Shattered interesting option is get a few ton's less ammo, possible saving a barn floor in addition to a garage floor, and spend the money on sears ... na you are on the correct track, remortgaging the house would have been the way to go. However, not sure if Doug could have found and gotten to all of his trigger packs out back then, as they would have been covered with the ton's of other cool stuff he had back then (I always figured what is around now is the stuff that got pushed in a corner, plus what he was holding in reserve for business reasons).

    Mmm...

    Back in '92, Doug had a lot better handle on where everything was. He had been in that Shelton CT location for a long time. He knew where everything was. Even the old Triumph chopper... he still has that, even. These days, he still hasn't emptied out all the containers he had loaded to move to FL. He's still "finding" stuff.

    I knew I was too late, but I thought I would give it a try just in case it was still available....

    NFA Firearms Ads

    Emailed Frank, and he told me it was sold in... 5 freaking min!!

    Based on the recent sale prices and the speed in which the RDIAS have been selling, what do folks think the going rate for an RDIAS should be? $17K? $18? When will the madness stop?

    I wish I had the time machine that Spetsnaz2.0 listed. And I don't even need to go back to 90s when the RDIAS were less than $5K. All I am asking for is the opportunity to go back 5 or 10 years when RDIAS prices were "cheap" at less than $10K.

    @Spetsnaz2.0

    Jokes aside, I think that is a great plan. Basic supply and demand imbalance. Plus earlier in the thread, somebody mentioned that stuff will get lost or worse thrown out as older NFA owners pass on, which will cause supply to shrink even further.

    I guess there is a 0.00001% chance that there is an amnesty, but I think I will be net-net I will be happy rather than sad if that ever happens.

    Now all I have to do is convince my wife that I need to buy 1 NFA item a year vs. put money into the 401K. Hmmm... Wonder how that conversation will go...

    Found this on the AR15.com site. Not sure why, but I found the comment so freaking hilarious when somebody mentioned how depressing the thread was when an old RDIAS "for sale" ad listed the price for $35.

    M16 and RDIAS price changes from 1986 to present? Please post if you know of an example. - AR15.COM

    Thank you so much for posting this. My god...maybe this thread was a bad idea. This is just plain painful.

    I know wishing is for fools, but damn... I wished I could go back to a time when FA wasn't the cause of Global warming, the Great Recession, etc. Come to think about it, it doesn't look like crime has gone down now that FA is almost impossible to get unless one is super rich.

    I maxed out my 401b and got a DLO hk box and Uzi papers in. Just get one MG first for fun / investment and see how it gos. And keep telling wife from time to time how prices are going up and how good of an investment you made and she will see things your way. Can you own a MG in IL?
