    Default SUBGUN MAG POUCHES

Looking for direction on subgun mag pouches. Need to carry 3 for the MP5 (or M16 9mm) in a drop leg or chest rig. Currently trying to get an Eagle chest rig M4, MOLLE LE for my M16 .223. Looking for something similar for MP5. Wondering what you are using or if you know where I might go to look.

    Thanks

    Default Eagle or Blade tech

    Hello,

I use an Eagle Tac-V-NU vest, the one with mag pouches on the left side and horizontal pouches on the right side, been using it for MP 5 since 1996. Only changes have been to remove the mag flaps, 2-MP 5 30 rounders on a dual mag clamp fit perfect, I then have a Blade-Tech HK Mp 5 mag pouch for the emergency 15 rounder, and am getting at least one more Blade-Tech for 2 additional 30's.

I got a MP5 K shoulder rig from am94pm on these boards, sewed it into the vest, have 2 single 30's in it, total of 10-30's, 1-15, ( hence the HKPRO Indian name "he with too many magazines", come the MP 5 class in Indiana next year, you'll understand, LOL!).

I have also found that army surplus M-16 mag pouches, the older ones for alice rigs, will hold two 30's on a dual mag clamp, quite well, just have to get the flap out of the way. That gives me an idea!

    Have to get some pics.

I had a Blackhawk drop leg carrier, but didn't like it so I sold it. The fastex buckles were slow to get mags into and out of. If you are a combat swimmer and need the security of the fastex then it is fine. I managed to pick up an Uncle Mikes drop leg carrier and like it much better but I don't think they are made any longer. It has snaps surrounded by velcro and is physically smaller overall than the Blackhawk.
For molle chest rigs, you can get the 3-cell Blackhawk or Camelback pouch.

Tactical Tailor makes molle MP5 pouches also, but they are 2-cell.

Price Western Leather makes a few different drop leg triple mag pouches for the MP5. You can get either 15 round or 30 round mags pouches in leather or synthetic. www.pwluk.com or www.pwlusa.com
