Hey Thanks for the reply to my other post. The one for sale here and on SubGuns was $20,500 but included another sear host(Vector V53) and a TON of accessories and had a sear registered in all 3 calibers. That being said if you subtracted the value of all items except the MP5SD(without sear),it would be a great deal. Hard to imagine the person selling off just the MP5SD alone, but it would not hurt to ask. If you thought the sear alone was worth say $17000,and the other gun and accessories were worth nothing,$3500 would be a steal for a MP5SD.

Sears are closer to $11K right now.

Where did you get $17K or am I reading it wrong?

First of all "3 caLibers" has absolutely nothing to do with value. Secondly, a sear above $11K only if in a burst pack and maybe not even then!

Wow I did not realize that the sear was $11K. I thought I had seen them going for more, obviously a lot more. You are right that certainly changes the math considerably. I guess that puts the MP5SD host in the $8000 to$9000 ballpark similar to the one mentioned on autoweapons.com. I think if you sold the sear for $11K, the Vector SBR for $1.5K and the other accessories for say $800-$1000,you would come in under
$7500. Looking specifically at that package, would that be a 3 tax deal or is the integrally suppressed MP5SD a single tax gun?

What you are seeing is a recent downturn in pricing due to only a few people's bad luck. I and everyone I know won't sell a sear for less than $15/16 K, maybe with a free gun thrown in.

Best advise I could give you is if you see one of these at a low price like this, and you want it, better hop on it. I've been telling people NOT to use investment money to buy NFA items as an investment for years. Take advantage of somebody's poor investment skills. These prices aren't going to last.

I'm not so certain that we have seen the bottom of the market / economy just yet ... my caveat is that if you want the weapon, it might be prudent to buy it now at a fair price rather than not be able to buy it at a steal price - if the administrations changes ...
