If your using duracoat its recommended as a base layer but its not needed. The parkerizing on its own would be a great finish. You could use Cerakote black velvet..... thats tough !
Modified SA80..... HK 223 & 416.... easy for HK... I wanna see what those feckers can do with the wheel !!!
As already noted, not necessary but has become the norm for most. Current day, HK phophates them prior to paint.
