Magazine(s): addiction or necessity?

6-10 per weapon for range mags. At least another 10 goes into storage. I'm never going to pay $125 for a HK mag again...although HK417 mags come pretty close :)

Meh... as long as you have a couple for the range, you're good. Don't sweat the small stuff. Not to say if you spot a killer deal to pass it up, but don't bother skipping a beer saving up for spare mags.

I hear you brother - not sweating it but finding P30 mags in stock as of now is a rarity. There'a a big gun show next month and I'll at least pick up another one for $35/each.

I have 6 magazines for my USP, four for my S&W and two for my 1911. I like to be able to load a full box of ammo before I go to the range as I'm always paying by the half hour. The less time I spend loading magazines the more time I have to shoot.

I have 3 10 round magazines and 3 15 rounders. I'd like to get 3 18 and 3 30 rounders just the have a full set of them all. Unfortunately the cost of both mean I could buy them or save up for that FN 45 I've got my eye on.

You can look at this this way also. Remember the AWB that stated 10 rds. or less and anything over was LEO. (Total BS legislation, BTW) Hi caps became real expensive. So if possible, stock up. This may be coming our way again and in the commies states this idiocy still exist. I bought a alot of EG AK74 bakelite, (phenolic resin actually) magazines for $29 still in the acid free paper. For $29 you got four to a new pouch with blank muzzle device and complete cleaning kit all brand new. I have seen these for sale for up to $150.00 per magazine without the paper! Therefore the couple hundred I spent = thousands now. So you never know. :)

I've got 6 for my USP 45, and 4 for my P30 9mm. I'll probably pick up 4 more P30 mags when they're available. Four is the min for me (I keep two loaded and the other two to rotate to keep the springs in good shape). I'll probably be satisfied when I have 10 for each... seems like a nice round number

I consider 4 a minimum, preferably 4 to 6. I usually try to stock up until I get to about 10 on guns that I consider primary guns, not just range toys. For example, for my Ruger Mark III .22 I just have the two mags that came with it, same with my Walther PPS, etc. For my Glock 21, Sig P226, and 1911s I have 6 to 10+ mags. I'd like to get to that point with my HK45, since I've gotten it I get the feeling that it's going to be my new go-to weapon.

(6) for my Sig P226,
(2) for my Ruger MKII
(5) for my Ruger MKIII
(6) for my Kimber

...not that it counts as a mag but it is useful so I thought I'd throw in my speed loader for my Ruger SP101. :)

I have 8 1911, 14 HK USP45, 8 USPc/P2000 .40

I'd like more, so that I can get through a full PPC match without needing to reload any mags.
