Default Lurker 1st post! Got a P7M13 ….you will love it or hate it

Hello all….I have been around awhile but I have spent some time learning about HK's from all of you before posting. I am the proud owner of a P7PSP that is one of my primary CC's. I also just picked up a VP9 and have only put a couple of mags through it. I have to say it feels better in my hand than my trusty Glock 19! I am a Colt and anything German, Austrian or Swiss made gun nut…

I would really like your thoughts on the gun below: Gold-plated fully engraved P7M13, custom grips with gold inlays

I personally don't like the grips (Wood Nils are more my style) but I'm wondering if I should leave it alone. The original owner was a Police Captain here in
Georgia (now deceased). I don't know who did the grips or the gold plating but the engraver was Rick Eaton, who is a well-known (Top 25 in the world!) knife maker/engraver. I contacted Rick and actually had breakfast with him in Montana. He told me that this is the only gun he ever fully engraved! Some of his knives have sold for SIX figures…so I am wondering what this gun is worth?

    Default I know….it's gaudy….but it IS unique?

I bought it because of the Georgia connection…. Looks like something ol General Patton would do ….of course he would never have carried a German gun!

I know it's your gun but why would someone do that to a P7M13?
HK: No, that does not mean Hong Kong

I agree….and I think it was like a trophy gun. I know purists want a blue/wood combo but let's face it some people like bling. Whether its clothes, cars, watches, knives or guns. I just hope I find an Arab sheik or somebody that collects Rick Eaton knives! :)

Thanks for the welcome by the way…looks like the gold M13 has prevented others from doing the same. I knew I should have posted pics of my P7PSP.:(

I love it! Screw the purists.
Great theme and motifs with deep meaning to the original owner. Love the stars, shield, Georgia state inlays and the cool deeply carved grips. The full engraving looks good even the outside of the of the chamber is engraved.
