HK has stated many many times that it has no desire to make a civilian version of the MP7.

Now that said, there is always a possibility that their mindset my change, but I'm not going to put my money on that.

There has been a semi only version offered (in Canada?). I don't think it is a matter of will HK offer it. It's a matter of can they do so in the US? Probably not. It would have to be offered as a pistol (like the SP89) with no collapsible stock to be imported as a pistol or in a 16" barrel version with all kinds of hoops to jump through (read: redesign) to be brought in as a rifle.

    And it is 4.6 x 30 ...

    Question

I think the closet thing I will see to the MP7 will be the poster of it hanging in my garage unfortunatley. Some pretty hot ammo for that little beauty.

With 9 more inches of barrel needed to be sold as a rifle, it would look ridiculous.

And to sell it as a pistol, the front grip and stock would have to go. Might as well just buy a Brugger & Thomet TP9 at that point.

Sadly, I don't think we'll ever see any title 1 versions of these in the US.

Could H&K import them with out the stock and forward grip and then SBR them. Then offer them that way, with the stock and grip back on?
    Ted Nugent on deer hunting.

He was being interviewed by a British journalist. The journalist asked,"What do you think the last thought is in the head of a deer before you shoot it? Is it, `Are you my friend? Or is it, Are you the one who killed my brother?'"

Nugent replied, "They aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away.' They are very much like the French in that way

How many NFA weapons has HK marketed to civilians in the US? I don't see HK going through the hoops of reconfiguring an NFA weapon into a semi-auto NFA item specifically for civilian purchase.

    I love that TP9 :)

Does Steyr make the TMP w/o a vertical grip attached? another sweet toy.

Somebody should photoshop on a 9" barrel shroud for me so I can dream legally ;)

Call me nuts but I don't think it would look much worse than this... I'd buy 2 :)

HK sold the SP-89 as an SBR (to civilians); one standard version, one PDW. They've done it before, but I agree they are not likely to do it again; certainly not now.

A stockless 4.6mm MP7 "pistol" was on the CAD machine in Oberndorf a few years back. Not sure what happended to it. One problem was and still is the availability of 4.6mm ammo in the US. The other is the import restrictions.
