most excellent, keep us posted and count me in......I have had no luck talkin my buddy out of his HK jacket :)
Gentlemen, and ladies of course, I just got a sneak preview of what I hope will be an addition to the HK Web Store soon. HK has a rain parka that is made exclusively for HK by Wahler of Germany and is absolutely stunning. It is Gortex lined so it will not make you perspire like much rain gear does and has the looks to drop dead over. In fact I had had it on in a 74 degree house for 15 minutes and did not get over heated then wore it while I took out the garbage and picked up limbs blown down by recent wind storms and never got the least bit cold, or wet. It is relatively light weight and is not insulated so I imagine that while I was wearing nothing but a T-shirt under neath (pants are highly over rated) and stayed good and warm, if not active in cold weather an additional jacket would be needed underneath to stay warm, and there is plenty of room for that! As luck would have it, it is raining cats and dogs outside and is in the low 40s, and outside it had no trouble blocking the wind, shedding the water, and keeping me nice and toasty while I paraded around the yard doing yard work that normally would wait until much nicer weather.
It has a hidden hood that rolls up into the collar and two large double snap closed outside pockets with zippered pockets behind them. There is an inside draw string to snug it up around the waste and an inside zipper so the internals can be accessed for cleaning or repair as well as a Velcro closed large inside pocket on the left side at waist level. It has two front zippers for closing it off to the weather as well as a row of snaps down the front (triple closure). Wind and water are not getting through this baby! On the cuffs of the sleeve there is elastic and snaps to keep the rain and weather from entering here.
The hood which rolls up in the collar is detachable and also has a draw string for snugging it up tight against the head. Also inside on the left breast area there is a clear window for a name tag and then an additional zipper compartment on the right side, breast high, between the outside front snaps and the first front zipper. The heaviest first front zipper is double ended for zipping from the bottom up or the top down. On the left sleeve above the elbow there is a small zippered compartment for ID or credit card sized items.
Outside, on the shoulders and on the elbows there are reinforcement pannels of heavy reinforced fabric and on the left breast, the "HK" logo that is attached with Velcro. For LE people a "POLICE" patch could equally be attached here.
The parka is HK black and I had no luck photographing it, but as most who have seen my pictures know, one thing I am certainly not is a photographer. When this parka becomes available I am sure HK will have much better pictures.
Price? Not a clue yet. However, considering the types of parkas we sold to police in a little police supply shop where I use to work, I would guess this to be in the $150 to $200 range. I may be way off base on either end, but honestly, regardless of what they charge, it is worth every penny and you won't be sorry.
Keep your eyes peeled for this to show up and I promise you, you will not find a better rain parka at any price. This thing is absolutely stunning and can be worn if fair or foul weather and you will look quite fashionable while doing it.

Nice report. I'll have to see when it's on the website. I bought one newer at that time Army Gortex jacket. Which I still have. Which HKs will fit in the pockets?
Well, it is not really designed to hold a handgun but when I went out to put another bag of trash in the can, the USPC .45 fit nicely in the right front outside pocked and the flap snapped right over.
shoot, another thing to add to the list!

Is it the same Gortex jacket and pants made by Wahler that HK use to have on their German web page? Those were pricy.
C'mon BB I'm waiting for the pix of you in the poncho sans pants
