Default HK To Resume Their Own Training

Ashburn, Virginia USA (March 21, 2008) Ashburn, Virginia USA (March 21, 2008) Heckler & Koch announced today it is reestablishing its in-house product training activity and is scheduling new courses through its offices in Ashburn, Virginia.
For the past 18 months, Heckler & Koch has been partnered with Blackwater Worldwide of Moyock, North Carolina in a joint undertaking that offered armorers and firearms training. That relationship ended last month when intense criticism by German media and parliamentarians led HK to terminate the association.
"We'll be offering the full range of armorers courses on HK products to the U.S. military, as well as federal, state, and local law enforcement customers," said Wayne Weber, Heckler & Koch Senior Vice President. "HK will also consider operator and instructor courses for the same customer base on an 'as needed' basis."
Armorers courses will be held at the HK facility in Ashburn, Virginia, near Washington D.C. Off-site instruction can also be conducted by special arrangement.
Heckler & Koch training is open only to the U.S. military, credentialed members of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and the armed forces and police of allied nations.

Can HK stuff on the Blackwater page be far behind?

I will believe it when it actually happens and not a minute before. I've been suckered too many times into believing Internet forum BS.

Either way, the hats in stock now. I saw them for myself just a few weeks ago. Blackwater had HK/BW fleece jackets, HK logoT-shirts, HK416/417 t-shirts, and hats all on display & for sale in their Moyock, NC Pro shop.

I saw this posted on the Global HK site the other day and must say that I would rather see HK do their own training again. It may not be ITD, but at least it is back to being in house.

Haven't spoken with him, but he'll be heading this up. He is THE MAN on the armorer courses.

There will eventually be HK45 armorer courses. Just needs a little time.
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered,

"Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

    Of course its LE/Military only.

I'm so tired of that. Weren't all the BW courses open to civilians?

HK clases were once open to the public. I think the civies needed some kind of LE signoff saying they weren't criminals, but other than that, they were available.

Annoying, Glock at least opens their training to Glock dealers, while Sig is pretty open allowing anyone to take any of their armorers courses (except when a local host wants to limit civilians).

Maybe someone will talk Hk into opening, at the very least, their pistol armorer classes to civilians.
