Default WTK any estimate on how many 14.5 uppers are out there?

Anyone have any estimates of how many 14.5" uppers are in the U.S.? How about 10.5"?

What is the difference (current market) price between the two? Thanks.

I believe there are more 10in uppers than 14in. People seem to desire the 14in one more, but I think the price is about the same.

Guys, please educate this rookie, so how do you get a hold of an upper? and two lets say you do, can you just drop it in onto any AR lower or do you have to modify stuff? and how much are those bad boys going for if you can order/get one?....thanks

Find one for sale at places like here, sturmgewehr, subguns, gunbroker, or maybe even arf.com.

They've recently been selling for $3500-$4000.

And yes, they drop right on to an AR lower, but keep in mind that you'll also need to install a permanent flash hider that gets it over 16" in barrel length, or register is as an SBR.

I'm not sure what makes the OP a 'rookie'.

I sold my last 14.5" upper that had about 800 rounds throught the pipe for $4,900 shipped. That was last summer/fall. 10.4" uppers are more available and seem to run about $1K cheaper. The piston system really shines in the shorter upper.

MZ1 was referring to himself as the "rookie", not the OP.

And I agree, there do seem to be a lot more 10.4" uppers than 14.5" uppers, but even the short ones haven't been coming out as much lately.
