    Default Sling adaptors

Has anyone tried the single point sling adaptor that goes on top of the castle nut. Since the castle nut is staked on, I am not going to try and take it off.

Here is a link of the adaptor I am talking about.

I have version for push button sling adapter (http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=2..._SLING_ADAPTER) on my MR223. It fits, but my E1 butstock can not lock in most forward position. Looks like HK buffer tube castlenut is slightly (some 1mm) longer than standard one or my buffer tube is screwed deeper into lower. Anyway no problem for me, as I use second position for my stock.

I'm not sure if it will fit on a 416, but I just ordered the Magpul ASAP sling adapter for my AR.

I tried to link it, but magpul.com seems to be down. Here's a youtube video about it.

Can someone send me the pages in the armorer's manual that describes how to remove the castle nut?

I purchased the regular DD Bursed loop sling adapter and I need to remove the castle nut to install it. I don't know the best way to deal with how the castle nut is staked.

you basically have to get a punch and move the staked metal back away from the castle nut. I didn't want to take the chance and damage the gun. Thats why I am going with the adapter that fits over the castle nut. But good luck in trying to remove it.

I removed mine and put an ASAP on, was a bitch of a job + scratched up the castle nut a bit but can be done.
