question about HK416 bolt components
On the HK416 manual, it said that the HK416 has improved bolt head, extractor and extractor spring. What improvements do they have over standard AR-15 components? Thanks.
The bolt diameter is thicker then a DI bolt, all of the corners/angles/joints are better radiused, and the alloy is superior.
DI bolt = .512 OD at the cam pin
and .101 wall thickness at cam pin
HK bolt = .53 OD at the cam pin
and 1.11 wall thickness at cam pin.
