MR762 Optics selection

Picking up my MR762 next week. Now just trying to decide on which optics I want to mount. My choices are so far:

1. TA01NSN-308: ACOG 4x32 Scope - This is "Ole reliable" for me. I have used one on my M4 for years so I am use to it.

2. Schmidt and Bender 1-8x20 Short Dot - "A marriage of German ingenuity"... Plus the quality speaks for itself!

3. Leupold Mark 6 1-6x20mm M6C1 - Not out yet, but is being called the best of both worlds.

I will be using my MR762 as a workhorse all-purpose gun. I mostly target shoot, but would also like to use it for training, and posibly competition. Looking for it to fill more of a "Recce Rifle" role than just long-range marksmanship. Any advice from the "Pros" on here is greatly appreciated!

The S&B would be my first choice. The catch is they keep pushing back the ship date. It went from Dec. 2011 to Dec. 2012. Next would be the Mark 6 Leupold. The Leupold should be out soon if not already and it looks like a great built scope.

If money does not matter S&B first then #3 Leopold and last the trijicon. I like the Trijicon Acog 6x48 W/red dot series also a bit pricey though...

Hey Marc23. I hope to also get my MR762 in about a week. Just curious which option you selected and how happy... I was about to order the ACOG as well.

I have decided to go with the S&B 1-8, although the 1-5 to 6 would be better for my MR556...

Still waiting on the S&B. I ordered an Era - Tac mount for it online, which took a while to come in due to export compliance paperwork (coming from Germany) I still have not shot my MR762. After all the recent madness with prices skyrocketing, I am almost hesitant now.

No question - the S&B Short Dot. I have one on my MR556 and it seems to be a match made in (German) heaven.

I'm guessing most of the members on this forum who bought a mr762 do not shoot long range too often. I have a 762 because I think its a great platform in 308. I would prob not pick up a 556 because many other ar platforms are better hands down for 1/2 the price. If you want a great 1-8 scope that works well.... Buy a USO. Here is a link from Snipershide.
