I was browsing hkparts.net and saw this:

Mr556 sling adaper - HKPARTS.NET

It says in the description that it would work on an MR762 and has two good reviews. Does anyone have more info on this part? A picture would be worth a thousand words.

Does anyone have any experience with how the HK sling and adaptor on the HK webshop work? I get the ribbon component part for the rear of the stock, but don't see how the front of the sling attaches to the adaptor.

The factory HK416/HK417 slings are a bit different than previous HK designs. The front hook is a band-style (as seen in first photo below), thus you will need the picatinny sling adapter on the HK Webshop to use it if you choose not to use the hard points on the gas block...





Of course, if the band-style does not fit your preference but you would still like to use the HK sling, you can remove the band-style clip and replace with the older style HK clip or push-button QD and an picatinny mounting point.

We are issued these items:

The sling is crap, hard to quickly adjust, and the plastic clip is prone to breaking. Also, when used in a 3 point configuration, one part of the sling will actually block the bolt catch, as it runs along the left side of the gun.

The adapter should have been more modular, to allow for more sling attachment models, not just limited to the Uncle Mike's design. I have used the VTAC L.U.S.A and like it alot. Our guns do not have a sling attachment hard point on the gas block.

If you mount the sling through the sling loops on the stock, be aware that they have a tendency to break in cold weather.

HK produces fine guns, but based on my experience, their slings leave a lot to be desired.

For about half of what that adapter costs, one can get a much better aftermarket sling and adapter for the MR/41x series. Just sayin'....

+1. The adapters are really for the purist, IMO.

And FWIW, the G28 utilizes a similiar design. I've never been a big sling user, but I'm starting to experiment with what works best for me. Right now I'm using the Magpul MS3 and ASAP.
