A1 stock on a 416

Hey guys,

I would like to run an old A1 stock on my 10.5 inch 416. I figure this would be a problem given the fact that the spring and buffer are designed for a carbine-length buffer tube. Am I right? Suggestions?

I run an A1 stock on my 14 inch 416, using rifle buffer and spring.No problems.
