Possibility of a Group buy for the HK45c in Tan?

I think the chances of a quanity buy a year ago would have been much better than now. Every thing they can make right now is sold as quick as they come in.

I also saw the pics of the tan HKs a while ago and would love to have an HK45 in tan. I do not currently have the capital for one, but I will in the next couple months. Also, as I live in California and can only get one through the Single Shot Exemption loophole (Simply put, it is just a bit more expensive (around $1200-$1300 ea.) and distributors are limited.), I won't hold my breath for one. Let me know how your request goes. If it is a possibility, I would do everything within reason to get one/be on the "special order" list. I probably would not spend an extra $200-$300 for one though. Been away for a few days, but I'm back and would definitely be in for one, compact/fullsize, OD or Tan with threaded barrel or without. Good luck and please keep us posted navyman.

You're almost definitely looking at a minimum order of a few hundred. . . probably 500. And they would all need to be pre-paid. Then, there would likely be a wait-time of at least a couple months to maybe even a year after HK agreed to run it.

If you are serious about approaching HK with this, you might as well get a list of at least six or seven hundred names of people who "SAY" they'll buy one and will prepay for it. Out of that six or seven hundred MAYBE half or a little more will actually put up the money if and when the time comes to gather the funds and place the $500,000.00 order.

Just calling HK and saying "There are 26 people on HKPro who say they want to buy a tan HK45 Compact" is not meaningful enough to even be likely to get their attention.

IF this were to happen I would think that Straightgrain would have to be involved with his contacts at HK. Also, it would have to be for one mold, the HK45C or the Hk45FS. There would be no choice, only one model.

I will make sure to keep this in mind. I will just see what they need for the Idea to be accepted and the price associated. I also completely expect there to be a waiting period, probably a year given their turn around times lately.

But I feel the cost and wait will be worth it in the end. Especially if it is a limited run. I will also feel great if I had any part in it. But I want one very badly, and I know I am not the only one. If HK gives me the Green light if a quota is met, then I will blast youtube, HKpro, AR15.com and a few other places to get the numbers. As well as LGS's around that I know that will stock HK's.

I am dedicated to see this through. Unless HK is all......."well, we would love to, but no." Or "We can't because of X." But if it is a numbers game, I will get those numbers.
