    Hi TGS;
    Too answer your question, as far as I know the recoil system and locking system is identical to the P99. I have an SW99 in .40 and find it very controlable, but then again is hoot with a very high hold on all my pistols.
    Thing is I shot the PPQ next to my ancient Glock 19 (2nd Gen.) and the Walther was much smoother in both trigger pull and recoil.
    About the QDT action; There is some take up before you hit the "ignition stage" as I call it, plus the reset is very positive and audible, it's a good 5.5lb pull.
    If the opportunity presents itself I highly recommend you give one a try, they're that good! Dale
