GENERAL RULES:

Submachine Guns (SMGs): MP5s may be 9mm, .40 caliber or 10mm. UMPs in .40 or .45 caliber.  Colt SMGs are welcome. They must be capable of select-fire. Burst only guns are welcome too. Closed bolt only. No open bolt or antique submachine guns are allowed.

This is a match that emphasizes operational authenticity. Most SMGs in the operational setting are not used with optical sights. No optical sights allowed here. The SMG in the operational setting is used with full tactical gear. Such will be the case here. The SMG will be utilized with the competitor's full call out gear, to include Kevlar helmet, if issued. The call out gear must include secondary weapon, as courses of fire will demand it. Kneepads are optional, but you will want them, and boots and body armor are mandatory. Bring gas mask. You will need it. Tactical boots required. No tennis or running shoes.

The courses of fire for the SMG will be designed as for how the gun was intended to be used. Up close, with hostages in close proximity to hostile targets. Most all courses of fire will be shot in the full auto mode, with specific exceptions as outlined in match directors bulletins.  If single shots are needed, trigger finger control is necessary. The courses of fire will be challenging, tactically oriented, and above all, emphasize the need for surgical precision.\

Though the double mag clamp is very handy for rapid reloading, it is not used often operationally, due to the weight of 60 rounds on the gun. Double magazine clamps are not allowed. Extra magazines must come from the load bearing vest or leg magazine pouches.

TEAM EVENTS: Officers who form teams must do so with members of their own tactical units. This is a safety consideration, so that familiarity with team tactics makes for a safer environment for all. A four man team can split into two-two man teams and enter both. Departments need not bring teams. Officers can compete purely as an individual.

FOUR MAN TEAMS: There will be one course of fire for a four man team. Used as the match for this award, it will use the skills of all four officers together to determine the winner.

TWO MAN TEAMS: There will be one course of fire for two man teams. Same as above.

TARGETS: Paper targets will be USPSA/IPSC Standard Targets, scored 10, 5, 2. Metal falling plates are 28" high and 12" wide at the top, scored 10 pts. Misses are scored as 0. 3X5 Index cards may be placed on shoot targets. They will be scored as 10s, off card is 0. Highest two rounds of burst on target are counted. Head shots are ten points on any part of head.

SCORING: Scoring is Chapman Count.  Simply, score minus time. Matches will be electronically timed. Shooting the most accurately, the fastest, wins. You won't be able to outrun misses.  The proximity of hostages will be painfully close, to keep you from trying to be anything but precise.

REGISTRATION: Entry fee for each officer will be $60.00.  PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY BUT WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE DAY OF THE MATCH.
