| Ben
gets busy with a close range target. Notice two rounds of brass, one
directly above the gun, and one about even with his index finger at the
edge of the photo, as the slide moves forward to chamber another round.
He was shooting a four to the body/two to the head target at about two
yards. Note lack of muzzle flip. He is using great technique,
with muscle memory making the shots, while he looks over the sights.
This is similar to the dynamic of gunfighting, where we all have night
sights, and other fancy things, but we would never remember using them,
"on the day." While I am being long winded, ever notice the photos of authors testing handguns in publications like "Guns and Ammo"? The pistol seems to be wrist wrenching skyward in just about every photo. I am beginning to think they do that on purpose. Not so here, when you hold it tight, you can keep it down. |
| Ok, even when
you don't shoot so well, it is only right to buck up. I sucked this
match, and I don't have any excuses, other than I can change a diaper
faster than most right now. OK? Now I have that off my chest.
Jerry, Ben and I headed to the Badlands Regional IDPA Shootout in Tulsa,
Oklahoma last weekend. We came off a one session practice the Sunday
before, but it was not to be. We all like to practice more for
events like this, but we plan on cranking off some serious rounds for the
IDPA Spring Regionals on our home turf, here in Columbia. 11 stages, and it went like this: Ben White, Second Place
Stock Service Pistol Master Class None of us were satisfied with our own performances. It is one thing to shoot your best, and get beaten. OK, I have whined enough. Scott was MIA due to PD staffing. He will be at the Spring Regionals June 2-3. Stay tuned!

| Jerry shows aggressive form as he takes on the last match of the weekend. We were required to wear concealment for every stage of this match. Don't agree with it, but some clubs are more hard core than others about it. Badlands certainly is. I would say 10-20 percent of your match could be concealment, to make it interesting, but all matches is over kill. Their match though, and my website! |

| We were squadded with an enthusiastic young man named Chris Soo, who shows great, aggressive form with his prized hard chromed P7M8. |

| As much as I hate publishing pix of myself, I thought I would post a photo showing off the 9mm Expert that I stole from Tonys05! It shoots like a dream! |
