Default Jim Schatz - Legacy Alive

Like others on this board, I had the privilege of getting to know and spend time with Jim. It was during two of the Gray Room Tours he hosted to benefit Boulder Crest Retreat that I came to understand his passion for BCR and their support of our warfighters. Like a number of you, I happily wrote checks... at first to see the Gray Room, later to support Jim, and now to support the Combat Vets and First Responders Boulder Crest serves. Well... Jim's passion became my passion and I eventually joined their Board of Directors, a role that I currently hold.

As I see it, one of my responsibilities while on the board is friend raising. To that end, I am hosting an event where Leroy Petry (Medal of Honor recipient) and Ken Falke (BCR Founder) will be speaking. It's on December 5th at a beautiful club in Scottsdale, with open bar and food during a reception ahead of speaker remarks. There is no charge, and no shake down for donations... it's about spreading the story of what BCR does to help people dealing with invisible wounds, and raising more friends of Boulder Crest.

I don't have the latest numbers as I type this, but I believe I will have some open capacity, and am inviting HKPro's Arizona members or those in for the SAR Show to join us. Take a look at the invitation below, and please PM me if you would like to attend. I will do my best to accommodate everyone.

@brn2xl so how was the event? How many AZ pro members were able to make it? I really wished I could have gone. Hope all is well with you.

Sadly, nobody from HKPro took me up on the offer.

The event was outstanding, and Leroy Petry is an incredible human being and inspiration! We ended up with 90 people in attendance, many of whom walked away profoundly touched and asking how they could support Boulder Crest and the people we serve. The most important outcomes were the several durable relationships we built, and despite not being a fundraiser... the final tally looks to be about $100k raised to support combat vets and first responders!!!

I was likely already driving and it's a metric pain for me to work PM's on my phone!
