Take it for what it's worth, since it is word of mouth. For you fellow Californians, 2 HK reps at Shotshow confirmed that they are in fact still working on getting the HK45 and P30 into the California market. I could not get them to say, but I can only assume that means they are working on a modified California version with the necessary additions to pass California requirements. If it's true, that's great news!
Bit bad by 'da HK bug Hidden Content
hmmmm which one shall I get next?
well I believe them, but just what and how HK is trying and what their possibility of success will be I can't say, nor did they. Will they add the needed features for a CA model? or if so how well will that work? and so on.
Yeah, that's good to know. I'll be extremely happy if they can somehow please the People's Republic of CA. However, I won't hold my breath since it sure isn't easy. I just wish they didn't have to "Compromise" for our state...
the hk45 and the usp have the same red round indactor on the right side.......whats the problem, ther are only 2 parts on the gun that are different. what the heck
After 1 Jan 2007 a semi-auto pistol must have a magazine disconnect to be added to the California approved list.
mag disconnect, chamber indicator are now required and soon microstamping also. In it's current form, the USP line would not pass. If it were not on the list already we would not be able to get them and they will not be on the list for much longer. MOST of the HK line will expire from the list THIS YEAR.
none the less, it would seem that HK has not given up on us in CA which is very good news. It will be even better news when the actually get approval and start shipping to CA.

Any updates to this?
I'd like to see them on the market and not for occasional sale at $1500-2500, which is insane.
FN engineered a relatively simple magazine disconnect (removable) for the 5.7 pistol, let's hope HK has something similar up their sleeves.
