HK45 is now available in CA to anyone who can legally posses a handgun. (Not just LEOs) I held one in my hand yesterday! It is now on my buy list!

In Kali whats the difference between LE pistols and Non LE especially since the HK45 only has 10 round mags to start with?

Really? You could have held them previously at any gun shop which sold them... they just couldn't sell it to you. Are they being shipped with mag disconnects now? That was the hold up... well that and the LCI.

Pistols can only be sold to Non LE if they are on the "safe" handgun list. LE do not have to conform to this. they can basically buy any pistol as long as it does not have an "AW" features.

You sir, have caused quite a fuss on certain websites with this claim. Please link to some proof.

Sorry for my density, but what according to the DoJ makes a 'safe' gun?

The one I am most familiar with is the "Drop Test", when they take the gun and as implied drop it from several feet up. If the guns fires then it fails or if the Round indicator fails, the gun fail, or is deemed not safe.

Just another little gimmick they pull here to make things difficult. Also the gun manufacturer has to pay to have this test done. Then the gun goes on the "safe list", but only for a certain period of time(several years, if that). Then they have to resubmit or pay to have the approval extended.

    Here's the DOJ test requirements.

They're guns that the DoJ says are safe. Has nothing to do with how safe they actually are. The CA list is the dumbest thing ever.

    And I bet the OP's lying/confused.
