    Thumbs up

And this is my favorite HK picture. The MP5 and the original pair of Adidas GSG9 boots are true classics.

Not enough share your concern for liberty, my friend.

    And that's a damned shame...

I think we adopted it as a supplement to the M203 since 2009. The main reason is of the design of the GL, which enables for a wider assortment of US and non-US made munitions to be used, back in Iraq, we started taking old Vietnam-era M79s grenade launchers out of mothballs and using the (mostly Marine and SF units to compliment their M203s) m, but we needed something more current, so the HK EGLM was selected.

The advantage of the M320 over the M203, aside from the capability of using other types of 40mm ammo, is that the sighting system is located on the side of the barrel, which makes aiming the weapon easier than using the older leaf or quadrant sighting system, despite that more modern versions of the M203 have a specialized reflex sight unit attached to the side of the weapon.

The M320 can be used both as a standalone unit, or as picture above, mounted on an M4A1 carbine.

The US Army has chosen to replace all of their M203s with HKs. Sadly, the Marine Corps, being tighter with their purse strings is yet to follow suit.

Chances are that all our old M203s will end up being sent to the Marines or to USAR/NG units. That's they way it usually happens, the Marines get all the "hand-me-downs" from the US Army.

Makes you want to sing Mackelmore's "Thrift Shop" song, doesn't it?

We don't get hand me downs from the Army. We have a full compliment of M203s. The Corps just decided that they would use their limited budget on bigger ticket items than a replacement grenade launcher. Guess we blew our HK wad with the M27 IAR.
