    Default Pricing Question

Can we ask on here how much a certain model of handgun would be worth? Is that ok or against the rules?

There is a space for those sort of threads in the premium section. In the general areas, it is essentially verboten by the numbers. Unofficially (as in - my opinion only) it seems that as if the "rule of thumb" the mods try to gauge whether you're fishing for numbers to start your bidding at. That is what is frowned upon.

In cases where, for example, you're thinking of buying one and wondering if you're getting conned, or maybe where you've inherited something and you're just trying to figure out what you've got, that seems more accepted.

    Own: HK91, SR9, SP5k, G36k, HK416, P30L, 2x P8, 2x P8A1, USP9
Future: Done, until HK comes out with something new & nifty. Might start building an FNH collection.

One can always surf various sales sites to get a feel for market values, that said, it's up to the buyer what something is worth to them.

Agreed, there's an area in the premium subcriber's section. Which is where threads get moved to, when people come in with price checking posts.
Also agreed, that if its a case of somebody asking for help, like "Should I pay this much" or "was this a good deal?" Or "should I get this?" where people can chime in with contributions that cqn help, yeah, the site usually lets that slide.

Seems like a greyish area...I won't post about it...I'll try and research more...
