    Default Moving to Hawaii

Slightly off schedule, but only 19 more days until my family and I make the jump over to the Big Island. I'll be there continuing my education and adding some ratings.

    Very cool, good luck!

    Is Hawaii a firearm-friendly state?

    No. Not even remotely.

I didn't think so... Hawaii is a nice place to visit but I can't imagine it would be that great of a place to live, IMO.

Hawaii is in that 9 state group that barely allows guns, think CA. No SBR's, no Full Auto, Silencers....well no NFA items at all really.

No HK's going over there; they're paying for school. Like I said, I'm going there to finish school and fly helicopters. Once I finish school, I hope to go from there to Alaska to fly a season or two and have my family experience the state. Then it will either be back to Hawaii or the mainland and settle down for a while.

    Welcome,
Will you be Hilo side or Kona side?

It is less restrictive than CA, but there are many restrictions.
If you were coming from CA, you would be happy.

Thanks for the welcome; we are moving to the Kona side and I hope to find a place close to the airport. We are staying in a condo at first so we can scout around for a place.

    Best,
