Yes sir! You can use a loaded cartridge or anything else that is small enough to fit on to the top of it to push it down. It is supposed to pull right out after its detent is pressed in...good luck w/ yours! I'm glad you have a bayonet for it. I've been waiting on RTGparts to get some more of the used bayonets back in stock so I can order one.

^^^ Lots of us just bought the G3 bayos DSA had on sale.

My two looked pretty much brand new.

Here's the link. they are back up to the normal price of $24.95 instead of the sale price of $18.95 though.

I took my M4 carbine to the range today and spent awhile cleaning it, didn't feel like messing with another rifle 😂 I can wait until the bayonet lug gets here and worry about it then. I'll update the thread when I try. Also, the wood furniture I found it's on a German site and I found out they don't ship to the US :(

I know, I have seen them also. Robert @ RTGparts had used ones in stock for $25, but he has been sold out for several weeks. I have been waiting on them to get back in stock, but Steve posted earlier on here about some on DSArms that I am probably
    going to order.

The problem with parts for HKs is the "good" deals tend to be short lived so you can't snooze.

I finally had a chance to do it, it was a beast, it was tight and I used a screw driver. After the installation I had a few scratches I had to use some Aluminum Black to touch it up. You can't tell now :)
