Semi-necro posting but I found this thread after googling the spacer part.

My Zenith Z-5RS, made May 2017, has the spacer as well. After removal I noticed a decent cant to the cocking tube. At its smallest gap I can barely squeeze a dental pick in between the cocking tube and the triple tree. I haven't shot it yet as I just received it today but I'll have to remember to bring the spacer with me and see want kind of accuracy I get with/without it.

Mine is about the same. You aren’t necroposting.

I am currently not super bothered by it. I would have preferred it was more concentric of course but I can live with it.

Please do report back, I'd love to see and read your findings on this issue as many of us are probably scratching our heads wondering "what difference does it make" as one Cu*t Presidential candidate once said.

Have an RS with a May/2017 born on date. It does have the 'spacer' as expected. Removed (doesn't fall out, but isn't tough to remove with anything you can grab the threads with) it shows the same small cant of the cocking tube as in the above picture. I just got this a few weeks ago and have run a few hundred rounds flawlessly. whatever downsides it may have, it certainly doesn't hurt anything being in there. No complaints on how it punches paper as-is, will try again at the indoor range this week and see whether there is any noticeable change in how it groups.
