Took the sights off my giden shadow today and installed the Hk ump sights, on the rear sight you have to use the same screw to hold down the sight base because giden decided to use a different thread size(smaller in length and size) than the original screw. Also changed out the cocking tube/handle and instead of a roll pin he used allen head threaded/pin, the cocking handle was threaded instead of a drilled hole. Wanted all HK parts on my shadow pistol figured if you decided to change what I changed on mine now you know what's there. I don't know what everyone is using for the top rail but I'm thinking about getting a rail with no holes and measure it out length between holes, countersink so it fits flush with top unless there is a rail that fits correctly?
Hk P30 9mm
Hk 416D .22
Hk UMP Pistol .40/.45 cals (Shadow)
Is the polymer up to HK spec or is it different?
There is not enough material to remove so that it fits flush.
Rail is ~.328 tall, recessed ~.110 top and ~.14 bottom. Gap is .05-.06ish.
I'd say your best bet is to take .07 off the bosses and brass inserts.
Better yet, your original idea of blank pic rail, thick enough to recess from the bottom to fit flush.

Also, mine appears to basically be flush up top.
Any easy way to order these rails or just email Wade?
I see the rail situation as a deliberate re-spec. A re-spec to some highly profitable proprietary parts.
