Default Vector V51 and HKParts "HK Low Profile Scope Mount Universal - Windowed"?

    Hi, all.

Anyone have any experience with the "HK Low Profile Scope Mount Universal - Windowed" from HKParts?

    https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/HK-G...owed-p2708.htm

I'm eyeballing it for use with my V51 SBR, but I'm not sure if it will fit properly. Hoping someone here has used one of these mounts.

    Thanks in advance!

These mounts and others like them (claw, etc.) fit pretty much universally across the HK roller locks. However, not every roller lock clone receiver is made equal and there can be some deviance when it comes to the tabs used by mounts.

If you have used a mount on your particular gun before without issue you can expect the same with the rest if they are quality mounts.

I've not yet had a mount of any sort on this V51 and that makes me a tad hesitant. But I suppose there's really only one way to know for sure, eh? :)

Unless your receiver is way out of spec there is nothing a little filing wouldn't fix.

Measure across the optic mounting tabs with a dial caliper, they should measure just under 1". Most clones, like the Vectors and Coharies, measure .020" to .030" too wide making it difficult to mount a rail without some kind of WECSOG action.

Sorry for the delayed response... didn't see this until now.

Here are two photos of my mounting pads. Apologies in advance for the lint... I guess there's no such thing as a lint-free rag, even if they're labelled as such. LOL

Using my digital caliper, I made the following measurements:

    Front pad width: .991"
    Rear pad width: .994"
    Dovetail width: .507"

So, it seems like that rail mount should work with this V51?

Also, is the dovetail used for the mount, too? Or is it for use with a different flavor of rear sight base?

    Thanks!

I can't speak to the fit of those MFI rails, I use B&T rails on my guns, but your dimensions look okay.

Haven't seen the B&T rails yet. I've heard/seen a lot of references to B&T (assuming Brugger & Thomet), but don't know anything about them. Are they the preferred parts/accessories people for HK type weapons?

B&T has partnered with HK for years to provide various accessories and parts and IMO their offerings are superior to that MFI rail. The vendor you linked above sells B&T so I'd start there, good luck.
