The cost for building a MP5 is way cheaper than you think. What took 30 year for these American companies to clone the MP5, maybe the lack of market analysis. When HK selling their MP5 over $2.5k, only few people buy it, and other companies felt its risky to open a production line to develop their own MP5, they scared to lost. After Zenith clone the MP5, people realized that demand is much higher than the supply, then PTR jumped in. BUT, the price, the players who later jumped in the market they thought if they sell their products slightly cheaper than others and reliable then they would have the market share. That is why the prices are followed by each other and remained high, and made consumers feel MP5 cost more to build. Finally, PSA is going to sell MP5 at 1/2 price of the competition that reflect the true value of the product even they still have margain to earn. Always has something or someone change the world, no worries!

After my KS47 experience I'll be skipping any first or second gen gun from PSA.

Zenith and POF have been making licensed HK MP5 for over 20 years now? The US clone market has been around since the 90s... it didn't take the US 30yrs to clone a MP5.
