Default Spuhr R300 AR stock adapter for MP5s

Hi all. First post here. I post over on M4carbine.net. Anyhow, I recently purchased a Spuhr R300 stock adapter to try on my Zenith Z5 rifle. When I opened the box, I noticed there was no MP5 buffer in the adapter. I know you have to buy an AR buffer tube and stock, but I was surprised to see no MP5A3 style buffer inserted into the receiver end of the adapter.

I purchased it from Mile High Shooting: https://www.milehighshooting.com/spu...4-type-stocks/

Dakota Tactical was out of stock: https://www.dakotatactical.com/produ...nd-compatible/ Their website shows some sort of insert.

This is the buffer I am referring to: https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/MP5-...n-HK-83p74.htm

Any and all help is welcome. I wanted to try a different set up for fun. I’m not looking for an accurate MP5 replica but rather a usuable PCC match gun. I emailed Spuhr about it; I don’t think they even have this part on their website because they are pushing their own stock (which I cannot have because of 922R). Mile High was no help.

    Thanks

I think “Bystok” runs this type of setup on his match rifle. If he does not pick up on this thread you should PM him. He is a very knowledgeable and helpful, seems like a great guy.

Wonderful. Mine does not have that. I emailed Spuhr directly about this. I’ll see what they say. Otherwise I’ll get my money back. I have no idea where you would buy that buffer at.

So I got this straight from a Spuhr rep in Sweden:

“Thank you for purchasing our products. The R-300 is indeed compatible with the buffer you linked to. We made two versions of the R-300 (which has since been discontinued) – one with and one without buffer. The R-300 with the buffer was designed to work in both an MP5 and a HK53, whereas the version without buffer was designed for the MP5.”

The buffer I linked to him was the MP5A3 buffer sold by HK Parts. I just wish Mile High knew this. It is after all a $250 adaptor.

Bystok, do you like yours a lot? Is it worth it? What Aimpoint mount and picatinny rail are you running? Of course, Sphur recommends:

“I would recommend a low rail combined with a 30 mm high mount. From our catalog that would be the R-302 combined with an SM-2001.”

    Thanks

I bought the Spuhr mount without the buffer as well. Does the MP5 A3 buffer suppose to work with this as well? I have one and it doesn't seem to fit very well. Thanks for any more info on this.

Yes, the buffer works with it. You have to heat it up in boiling water for a few minutes and then tap it into the recess with dowel rod and hammer. It works fine in my Zenith clone, but after using it, Iíve discovered itís not what I wanted. Iím selling my Zenith rifle as well.
