If tom gets into xm8 receivers like he has the g36. Then I'm going to start selling off more than I would like to afford it...

Got cam pin from Tommy on mine today and good to go cant wait to shoot this baby.

I never was a fan of xm8 either but after watch the Vickers / ion from forgotten weapon and mac videos I can see myself owning one.

Ok, new cam pin arrived. Haven't fired it yet but later today I'll give it the true test. Here's a pick of the carrier as it moves along it's travel through the receiver. Last pic you can see new cam pin orientation on left. Indeed it does hand cycle better than before, but I'm getting a lot of bolt to trunnion chatter upon first egagement at lockup.

Hand cycled quite a few rounds through my factory mag, Pmag and my Beta mag. All hand cycled fine. My intention is to go to the range tonight and dump at least 100 rounds through it to ensure function while actually live firing. Will report back again. So far, so good.
    Any weekend updates?

Fired mine today. Worked perfectly. I do have damage to one of the lugs on my bolt though. Don't know if it occurred during firing or when it was assembled. I'll post a picture later. I am very pleased with Tom's handy work.

Damaged bolt lug doesn't sound good, bolts are spendy and your already seeing damage, how long to failure or breakage occurs, hope it works itself out.
Hmm. Here's the fitment differences between first a German G36 receiver half and u.s. made receiver. Same bolt. You can see, the lower internal rails on each side on the German receiver almost hug the bolts surface, the u.s. made receiver there is a substantial gap.
I haven't fired mine yet because there was a fire out at China hat, so no access to a shooting location nearby and damaged anything would put me over the fn top.

Got mine back from Tom today with the new cam pin, put back together and ran some slow function test with hand cycling some rounds with no problems, went in the back yard and ran a 30 round magazine as fast as possible, no jams, smooth function, no damage to Bolt lugs, big smile on mine and wife's face, very pleased. Big thanks to Tom, good to go😀
