Put about 120-150 rounds out of mine on Saturday, no issues at all.

I forgot how different the recoil impulse was on the G36 vs AR and AK. Been too many years.

I had mine out over the weekend but didn't have much luck, fail to feed issues seam to be the curse for me. Gonna call Tom see if I can ship him the whole thing.

How would you describe the recoil impulse differences?

The AR is spongy and even forward and back, you can hear the spring move and feel what your hearing, also moves up and right for me. AK74 is even moment back and forward quickly, moves directly up for me. The G36 is very sharp and very fast, feels almost directly to rear for me. It's in no way unpleasant, but its a sharp contrast to the others, almost satisfying to feel the speed of it. As a side note my new integrated suppressed 300 Blackout 106UR is the most bizarre recoil I've ever felt. Slow push then a hard jolt to the rear, can't feel the return at all. Really weird, maybe the way the gas builds in the can?

I pay close attention to the recoil of every thing I shoot for some reason. Pistols and rifles. It's my primary way of deciding if I like something or not. The AK74 is my favorite so far, but the G36 gives them a run for it. There is a reason I have piles of 5.45 guns, mags and ammo. I'm going to be looking into having a custom 5.45 barrel made for my G36E, damn the cost.

Sorry if you said before but are you running the full GSG9 or German parts? Are you using the new pin Tom has? What ammo?

Is there a write-up on what it takes to build up a receiver? I am seriously considering qoing this route vs. acquiring an SL8.

You might as well just wait since Tom is going to be releasing complete G36 rifles before long if he hasn't already. I haven't seen anything on his site yet but he has said that he plans on offering complete rifles eventually. If you do decide to build instead. Make sure though that it is 922r compliant. Here's an old post by Chopstix that should help: https://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-refer...rence-faq.html

Like @John_Mcclane mentioned, it's better to ask Tommy directly. There have been different build requirements for people who used OEM German parts vs US made GSG9 parts.
