Default Will this “UMP Style” MP5 stock fit a Vector V93 pistol?

With the big suppressor sales going on that I’ve fallen for, I’m planning to file a bunch of Form 1’s at the same time as setting up a new NFA trust.

One of the guns I want to SBR is my Vector V93 pistol (HK53 clone).

This UMP stock has caught my eye for the stock part of the conversion https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/MP5-...k-83p16928.htm

It’s my understanding that most MP5 stocks can fit the HK53/93 clones. Should this one fit?

The backplate will fit, but the buffer is not adequate for 5.56, IMO. Same goes for a buffered carrier, it should be contacting metal not polymer.

I have been pursuing the same thing, even tried an aluminum backplate from a SBT5A brace, but the fit was sloppy.

    Interesting,

I wish I understood the geometry a little better. If I did, I could maybe come up with something in SolidWorks and have it made by one of my steel plate vendors.

The stock looks like it would be more comfortable to use than the collapsing A3 stocks. I have the SBTevo brace on my scorpion which is a similar style and I really like it.

I'm in the process of attaching a pic rail to an aluminum backplate so as to use a sig mcx thin folder, we'll see.

Do you think it might be possible to take the SBT5A rear end cap/hinge, unscrew the brace from the hinge, then replace the brace portion with the stock portion of the B&T stock?

If it does that might also make an awesome stock to SBR my Evo with as well.

A shop in Miami was doing that for a while and I've shot several AK variants with that type of stock set up... you're going to like it.

Yes, UMP stock will go on SBT5A backplate. That's what i was shooting for, but the fit was a no-go for me.

I should have caught that with your other post but I misunderstood. I guess it was a little too loose on the hinge?

    Edit: One other interesting item

It looks like HKParts.net advertises the shorter LOP B&T stock piece as being compatible with the SBT5 back plate. Perhaps the hinge geometry varies slightly.

No, stock/brace to hinge was fine. For me, the backplate was a poor fit to the receiver. Ymmv

Was it super tight for you?

I bought an AR adapter from HKParts that is super tight and I didn’t care to force on to my receiver. Now I’ll have to sell it.
