Default Z5RS Magazines not dropping free with paddle

Has anyone else had an issue with the magazines not dropping free when using the paddle release? They fall right out when using the button. I'm running the mags that came with it. I wouldn't normally care, but I just ordered an hkparts EMR.

Turn the gun upside down and watch the mag catch travel to the other side during a button push and then the paddle push. You should be able to see if the little nub thing on the paddle is maxing out and not able to push it far enough, or possibly see if there is any other interference (or friction interference) when the paddle is used.

My Zenith works fine. Was this a problem without the EMR?

From your photo, it appears that you have modified the magazine release.
Magazines from roller delayed blowback weapons, like the MP5 and Z-5 are not intended to "drop free" like an AR.
If you have any concerns with your Zenith, give the customer service line a call. The armorers will get you sorted.

The gun is mechanically fine. Countless rounds and no issues. Just wondering why I can drop mags free with the button and not the paddle.

I'll give that a try. I'm thinking the paddle produces less catch travel too. It works on my vector 93, so it has a home either way.

Also make sure that little add-on device is getting clearance to push the paddle completely forward. Or maybe you're testing it without that thing attached so this is not applicable.

In any case, you've got an attack strategy. Good luck.
