    Default scopes or optics on 91 clone

    hey all , if you were going to put glass on a 91 clone , would it be a scope or a red dot?

    Thanks in advance Weps

    P.S. i have an aimpoint already and a scope, just looking for your reasoning.

    I would put a scope on it because when you're shooting it at 300 yards+ the red dot obscures too much of the target

    7.62=magnified optics, in my opinion.

    It has a low power magnification and an illuminated dot for close quarters. I used it in Afghanistan.

    Scope, at the least a 1-4x or a fixed 4x.

    If you are serious about any type of scope/whatever on a 91, you want a welded rail on it. Any one of a number of people can do that for you but I like TPM Outfitters in Texas. While you're at it, have them put the correct mag release in and remark it to "G3" for you, since they'll be refinishing it anyway.

    +1 on TPM outfitters. They welded the reinforcement rails on my PTR91 FR. Their refinishing process is awesome too.

    I put an SWFA 3-15 ffp on mine, in a warne ramp mount with offset pic rails. That setup gives just enough clearance between the scope bell and the hk21 charging handle.

    I forgot about the reinforcing rails. No brainer.
