6.5 Creedmoor is gaining more popularity every day. Just wondering if a standard G3 mag will work with it.

I wanted to do a psg1 clone in 6.5... just didn't get around to dropping $1000+ in a custom barrel that would last 2-2.5k rounds

There were 260 PSG1 clone barrels around for a while.

6.5CM exists to work in box magazines where COAL can be a problem with 260. While 260 is a direct descendant of 308, 6.5CM might require some more overhaul in the chamber/locking piece areas. I doubt the juice is worth the squeeze though. Keeping a regular roller (not a half-moon "roller") gun tight on accuracy to justify 6.5CM would be tricky given the cost to develop and re-barrel.

Regarding the barrel life thing, you can stretch that out with milder loads, but if we're talking sub 20" barrels, is there really much point compared to putting Fed GMM into your good 'ol 308 that already runs?

    This nails it.
While the 6.5CM is an outstanding performer that difference in performance is small enough to hardly justify the engineering effort (and cost) to make a roller gun fire it. Especially when they might sell a dozen.

I don't "run" my guns or "run" anything on them. Likewise, none of my guns are "platforms". I hold them up, not the other way around.

You dance with who brought you I guess.......but "accuracy" and "M14" don't go together.
