Hey there, new here Because I wanted to buy a clone mp5. I asked the same question on reddit days ago. And they basically told me to stay away from these.

I won a POF MP5, and it works well. Though I did have to fix the mag paddle release that was the only problem so far after 300 rounds.

Here's a vid of me shooting the gun I won from the auction, YMMV.

I'd agree with the last sentence. But the poster I was referencing is probably into the gun for about $1,000 total with the extractor and ejector. Way better than I would have guessed. There's now another poster who had to fix a paddle release, again not a $2,000 upgrade.

It’s not worth it to me, and I think there are way better options for just about anyone. But the outcomes from those guys are way better than I expected.

What was the issue with the paddle release?

Oh I get what you're saying, but when the seller expresses that there's zero warranty, and then goes on to state, " ….you may find the pistol with minor defects such as canted front/rear sights, canted muzzle break/lugs, blemishing on paint finish, rough welds, tight fitment of certain parts, other canting, or function issues...."

Then, in my book, he's telling you that he's selling junk, and you should be cautious to by said junk.

I'd just call RDTS, and get one that works like a Rolex.

The contact piece broke and all I had to do was replace that part.

I look at these as a parts kit.. zig you can get a parts kit for $1000 or less and can make it work... then by all means... but as a functioning gun with no warranty that may have issues like stated above... well that’s not cool ...

    Default Pakastan rust buckets

Pakistan rust buckets / boat anchors. I would by a new PTR before I would waste my money and time with one of those used Taliban funding crap. By HK or American.

If someone wants to save a little money and gamble, you can usually pick up one of Toad's guns (Special Weapons, Coharie, Bobcat, etc.) For a decent price. Most seem to run fairly well, and there's enough info out there to usually diagnose the problems with those that don't run well.
