Default PTR91 with HK Stock & Wide Foregrip ($580 Score)

Yesterday I went to a local gun shop of mine to pick up a rifle I ordered off gunbroker, that was listed as an FA91, but the pictures looked like questionably like a steel receiver. So, I bought it out of curiosity. I was promptly shipped a PTR that had an HK stock with heavy buffer, HK mag, and an HK wide foregrip (no bipod sadly). It was also listed as used, but as far as I could tell it looked like it had never been fired and just had the parts swapped out for HK. Paid $515 for the rifle, $35 for shipping, and $30 for the FFL transfer. Was this a good deal?

Ignore the four cetme mags, I got those for 5 each in a bargain bin.

The barrel is fluted, my PTR 91 GI doesn’t have external flutes on the barrel, also it doesn’t appear to a stepped HK profile barrel that PTR ships their rifles out with, unless this is a different model.

From what I can tell, the barrel is a PTR106 barrel/receiver/grip combo. The furniture is the HK stuff.

When I won the auction I was a bit surprised, and when I go the notification from the postal service that it got to the gun shop I left immediately and drove to get it. I was really intrigued to see what it was. I hadn't seen the rifle in anything but 1 blurry picture, so when my $580 rifle turned out to be a $2100 rifle, I was pretty happy. The guys at my local gun shop were jealous!

I'm really happy I got what I got. I'm currently thinking of putting a telescoping stock, sling, bipod, and carry handle on it to make it like a retro g3 style.

Isn't that a hk93 handguard? It looks like their carbine model with 16" barrel.
