Beau, I used a Bushnell TRS-25 for years on a certain Mini UZI SMG. After I sold the silver UZI I put the TRS-25 on my Zenith Z-5P. It was non-cowitness on the UZI but it is cowitness on the (non SMG) Z.

Hey Guys,
my, new to me, omega has a welded on rail and id like to a simple budget red dot. Any reccomendations? Honestly I do not like the cowitness because I feel its too cluttered. Just something that looks out over top the front hood sight.
what do you guys think? Im not too concerned about being super accurate because I only do mag dumps and its a subgun

I'm a fan of the vortex sparc2.
Even better than an RDS for just mag dumps... a GREEN LASER!

With budget in mind, two good red dots are the Vortex Strikefire and the Sig Romeo 4 or 5. Vortex has great customer service and awesome warranty. The FBI approved the Sig Romeo 5 for duty use. The testing the FBI put the Sig through is a tough and it help up to all of it. Hope this helps.

I'll second the Bushnell TRS-25. I got it on sale for less than 50 bucks a few years ago and it works well. I had it on an SKS but moved it to my POF SMGPK after I got it a few months ago. I am very pleased with it on the POF.
I had the sig romeo 5 on mine for a bit, with the high mount the view is over the sights, and you can use the irons through the lower part of the mount.
+1 for the Romeo 5 given your criteria. It comes with an additional riser to put the dot well above the front sight hood radius.
