    Default Strange MP5 Clone

    Hello,

I've encountered strange MP5, owner says it's genuine HK but close inspection says there are no proper HK markings. Also it doesn't look like Enfield production or enything else I could find on the net. My thoughts are with chineese receiver. I'm I correct?

    Here are some detailed photos:

there are no marking except barrel [14-42-90] and top of receiver.

    Thank for Your help!

The fonts "appear" correct, but this serial range should be for an Enfield (as you originally thought), but the top receiver would be stamped on the right as "EN MP5 Kal. 9mmx19 serial number 4/72"--- should have the "SEF" trigger pack housing, as well!!!
If not certain, then I would pass.

Those Hk markings on receiver looks very fishy...

Looks like someone welded over the other markings and remarked it. If you look on the inside of the receiver you should be able to detect the weld if an alteration was made.

I think that one could actually be a real HK.
The little hole on the trigger pack leads me to believe that it was a police gun. There‘s no reason a police would buy a sketchy clone.
It probably has been poorly refinished.
