    Default Brownells lower build questions?

I plan on picking up a Brownells BRN-4 lower when the next sale comes up and I have a few questions. Can I use the the parts from my LPK that came with my HK416D parts kit? The auto sear and safety were not included, so I will have to source a semi safety. I assume any AR-15 type will work.

What buffer retainer does the Brownells lower use, I have the HK one in my LPK?

I would like to have it laser engraved with close to the correct markings. Any recommendations on a reliable source?

The BRN-4 will accept both AR-15 and 416 parts. What you have in your HK parts will work fine (other than needing a safety). San Antonio Laser does great work and they have permission from HK to use their logo and have the correct fonts (unlike some other places). Very quick service and I was happy with what came back.

San Antonio Lazer Engraving has done a few for me. Their turn around is great and knowledge as well as attention to detail is perfect. This bottom rifle is a BRN4. I used a standard LPK along with my older MR556 Saftey..and found a Buffer Retainer/pin/spring in the For Sale section here.

Thanks for the info, the lower looks good. I have the HK spring and buffer pin in my kit, but wasn't sure if it fit the Browenells lower.

That is nice! Did they also do all the markings on the upper? I assume yes, it want to confirm. I am in discussion with them to do several uppers and will proceed if they did yours. (I did two lowers with them and was very pleased.)

Yes! They have done both of my 416 clones (both uppers and lowers). One was a Remarked Mr556 the other was a BRN4. You wont be disappointed

My 3 went out to them this morning, thanks for your input. I see Brownells has now taken their sale price ($229) off and the stripped uppers are now $426; glad I bought when I did.
