    Default G36/T36 question

Was looking at some of the tommy built G36's.
I was looking at the G36KER and the G36ESF.
    Which would you choose?
    G36KER 16.5 with K gas or G36ESF 18.9 with E gas.
I like the FDE look. Anyone with experience with it? How does it hold up?
    Thanks for any advice.

I recently bought his G36C and I'm thrilled with it. Having said that I cannot lend any insight to the specific models you mentioned, but the work and customer service from Tom has been stellar for me.

I just received my T36K from Tommy Built. I'm very impressed with the overall quality. I would say to research a lot of what he offers before you place an order. I had mine done with AR fire controls so I could run a familiar trigger, and also with an AR magwell because I live in a dumb restricted state and it makes no sense to spend a lot of money on 10 round G36 mags...plus if you have a bunch of stanag mags already it might make sense for you too.

When I got it, I wasn't impressed with the sights. The rear has 2 apertures that look almost the same to me, and it doesn't really snap into position, so I ordered his low rise top rail and then got a set of Troy HK style backup irons instead. I still need a red-dot for the gun. I never actually had a chance to hold one in my hands before I ordered, so I didn't know I wouldn't like the standard rear sight...not a huge deal and he shipped the rail to me very quickly when I ordered it. Wasn't too tough to swap, fits snug so I had to tap it over the receiver dovetails with a soft hammer.

He shipped the gun with a nice soft case too, nothing crazy fancy, but it seems well made. Tom is also very responsive if you have any questions via e-mail. I'll definitely purchase from Tommy Built again.

I have a G36K converted from a SL8 from him. Very high quality and very well put together. Also have to add that he has stellar communication as well.

I have a T36C and K, the K was SBR'd and the C has the TB side folding brace. Love them both defiantly worth it if you want a G36.

I have a T36 E, with a German barrel, built on one of Tommy's receivers. Love the thing and just ordered a T36C in black, should ship April 3rd. Ordered a IDZ brace as well... not sure if I should have gone with the tailhook instead. I have a tailhook on my scorpion evo 3 and like it... but the IDZ looks more like what should be on a G36...

Is your top rail from tommy?
I have read all good about tommy. I have emailed him a few times. Very nice and quick to respond.
I guess my question if a more end-user one.
Which mainly is about the gas system.
Probably in the end is really does not matter.
I have a T36C rifle. I like it and like the platform.
It's stupid but I do not like the look of the super long muzzle extension.
So I can either get over it and live with it. SBR it. Or sell it and replace it. For the cost of the T36 I just wanted to get it right the first time. second time LOL.
I really did not intend to have a super long thread about O what should I do.
I am leaning toward the T36KER. 16.5 barrel is just right, and looks good.
Sorry for the long and rambling post.
    thanks again for your advice

I've had a pretty good experience, triggers are heavy as G36's usually are.

My gun was not built by Tommy but on one of his receivers. I got the rifle from a friend who owns a gun shop in the suburbs of Dayton Ohio, there are a lot of German HK parts on mine, including the barrel. Mine is not as picky about ammo being a full size E model. I have read the C model needs hotter NATO spec ammo because of the short barrel.

As for the rail, Tommy sells those. https://www.tommybuilttactical.com/g...-rise-top-rail
