Default Latest and Greatest SOF HK416 handguard.

The title says it all. What’s the latest and Greatest? RAHG? Midwest Industries? Geissele? Something newer than those?

Wanting to build a SEALS clone....

    Thanks!

Well the "latest" is the Geissele Mk15 rail that debuted yesterday...and most aren't impressed with the look...but it is indeed the "latest"

"Greatest"...is a matter of opinion. If expense is an indicator, legacy Geissele SMR's (due to availability) and the Lancer CF are the highest priced on the market at current.

If you want a SEAL clone, pretty much one of 3 things:
    - OEM quadrail...cause it's what came on the gun
    - Geissele SMR
    - Remington RAHG

If it helps, Geissele rails are probably at their highest market value since their release; and Remington RAHG's are at their lowest.

Daniel Defense made a rail as well for the 416. It was a simple tube that had picatinny rail mounts at the end. It was light weight which was the attraction compared to the OEM rail which is heavy as sin.

I know Vickers had one, I saw very few ever surface for sale, and the last one posted on here a few years ago was listed well over $1k...and was sold.

I knew about the Daniel Defense, but also had heard they were rare, and doubted I’d ever see one....or if I did, be able to justify the expense!

Somehow I got the idea the Navy had RAHG and Army SOF had the Geissele. Am I wrong?

I owned the Geissele, and it was very well made....

That’s incorrect, there’s NSW and devgru pics of Geissele rails (assuming they are labeled correctly).

Both are better than oem quad for actual use. Opinions vary. Generally the complaint is the RAHG isn’t tight enough and the Geissele can be too tight...
A lot of Geissele rails out there with dings and dents on the rear for a reason

I forgot to ask, what is the clone correct color for the RAHG?
