So the grip-light look I want was full retard expensive at +$400 and discontinued everywhere I looked. I am technically savy as an engineer, of sorts so I decided to build my own for less than a quarter of the cost - Because let's face it - I'm a poor and I'd rather have 400 in bullets and booze than a piece of plastic and and LED. See my pics for the build process and finished out on my clone SBR. It's only 100 lumens advertised but I slightly over-volt the LED with a 3.7 volt lithium cr123 and get a little brighter. It's for close quarters home defense anyways and it's plenty bright for that job - Please gaze upon my works yee mighty and despair.
Milwaukee LED Pen light $20
CR124 Battery carriage $7
HKUSA mp5k fore grip $32
Misc wires/solder/tube. $5
plastic end cap asst $5
And that is "custom" (or couture / bespoke) of course, so that makes it worth 3x as much!

Great work!! I always like the DIY home-built stuff!!
PS - What kind of booze??
whiskey of course - what else?
IDK. Would rather not spend $400 on HK accessories? Ban him now!
JK. Nice DIY!
Love the creativity and nice work! My favorite part is the "I slightly over-volt the LED" portion. Never a problem too big to surmount.
What a great idea!!! I was pondering over doing something just like this a few weeks ago and did not come up with much. Thanks for posting your work, it gives me a few ideas.
