    Default HK USPc Kaboom fix

Had a case head separation and blew up my USP compact .40. Cracked the frame, and then I lost some small parts after I tore it down for inspection and threw it in a drawer. Finally, contacted HK USA and sent it back for frame replacement. HK CS treated me great, and sent back a serviceable pistol for a fair repair price. We shall see if I can shoot it again without wincing every time I squeeze the trigger. Thank you, HK USA.

I would LOVE to see a picture of the firearm that they fixed and the results you get once you can go to the range. HOPEFULLY it will be as good as the original.

Glad that HK took care of you.

Was it factory ammo or reload? Did HK ask about reloads?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I'm glad you were not hurt from this incident. But shooting your repaired HK concerns me. Where exactly did your frame crack? I once owned a Walther PPQ that developed a visible crack in the grip tang. Walther would not repair the frame due to liability issues and sent me a brand new gun. I wonder why HK did not opt to sell you a new frame.

If it was factory ammo that caused the bad boom, the ammo manufacturer should be on the hook for cost of repairs.
If it was reloaded ammo, well you places your bets and takes your chances.

I don’t think I have any before pics. I will look. Frame stayed together but peeled and split on both sides. Ammo was reloads from large production reload company—not home brewed.

Frame was replaced. Whole pistol was gone through and all parts inspected. Missing parts replaced. Sorry for confusion.
