Default Received my VP9 Long slide kit from HK usa. very disappointed in the...

packaging. for an expensive precision part I would expect careful / protective packaging. so first thing I notice when I pick up the fed ex package from my porch is metal on metal parts banging around. open it up and there is a loose bubble wrap pocket with the loose slide barrel and recoil spring jumbled together. the slide has red paint nicks all over it from the recoil spring paint. I suspect it will clean and and be all good but this is really very disappointing. I have bought $8 plastic parts shipped from China that were packaged much better than this.

Mine arrived today, in oily bubble wrap inside a cardboard package. I assume my FedEx driver was more careful as everything held together just fine. Wiped the oil and it’s beautiful.
I’m not sure I like the super tall sights, I guess I’ll try to get use to it.

Mine was fine. The cardboard box was wrapped in a bubble mailing bag that was wrapped around the box. Inside the box, the assembled slide was in a bubble bag and the barrel and recoil spring were still in their assembled position in the slide.
    Do you even HK, Bro?

Maybe your FedEx guy kicked it from the truck to your doorstep.

the delivery guy to the door was fine, watched him place it carefully from my security cams. probably the guy that threw it off the airplane. anyways a simple rubber band around the bubble wrap would have kept it together.

I do like the tall sights and the front dot is big. crisp sight picture for sure.

Is there any benefit with those sights if I've no plans to use a suppressor?

The reason those sights are there is mainly so they can cowitness with a low enough red dot sight like the RMR. Standard height sights would be completely blocked by the body of the red dot.

Mine came in pretty beefy cardboard box with foam inserts, that was when first came out.....hey if it works that's about all that matters....BTW< I noticed the other german maker "W" has a long slide kit for their PPQ, it's $500, so HK is a relative bargain.
