Just a heads up to anyone else tackling this, Michael's Machines will be producing a limited run of 10mm USP barrels. If you are interested add your name to this thread: https://www.hkpro.com/forum/michael-s...your-slot.html

I have a barrel "in the white" from RCM. I have had it bored to 10mm. will be taking it back to RCM this week to be hardened. they have stated they will take measurement off it and may make a small run of 10mm off of it.

Returned my reamed barrel to RCM a couple weeks ago for heat treat. Patiently waiting to get it back. Will update when I get it.

Did you re-chamber your barrel yourself? Or send it out?

How much are they charging you for the Heat Treat?

I need to start looking for a USP40 o use as a donor here

Picked it up from RCM before heat treat, had it reamed to 10mm by my buddy The gunsmith, and sent it back to RCM to be treated with their next batch.

I finally got a chance to shoot it, pure awesome. Actually less flip than my 40. I’m using MK 23 mags because of the longer feed lips, still have some tweaking left to do on them though

I take it that the 10mm rounds are too long to feed thru the stock USP .40 S&W mag?

correct, 10mm won't fit/feed the OEM .40 mags. If you want a 'factory' mag setup for 10mm, it's possible without needing to build custom magazines -- options I've seen:

    - USP40 Modification: sand/polish the magwell down, then use HK45 mags (oem or aftermarket steel) as noted earlier in this thread as well as over in this thread, with modified 'elephants foot' baseplates and slight bending of the feed lips. Drops free and retains hold-open. .40 oem magazines still fit/lock if you want to switch between calibers.

    - USP45+USP40 Combination: acquire a USP .45 frame and a USP .40 slide and mate them together like in this thread. OEM USP45 magazines work fine with 10mm with only slight bending of the feed lips

I bought a cheap police trade-in USP .40 and went with the first option (and had a local gunsmith ream my OEM .40 barre). If you have the $$ or spare USPs laying around, the second option might be quicker & easier -- It took me a several hours to carefully sand/polish the magwell to get the fit right.
