    Default Hk p30sk recoil spring

    Hey all,

After my range trip with the p30sk today ( about 350 rounds) when I was breaking it down to do a quick clean, I noticed that the guide rod spring was not captured. I push the spring back to where it was suppose to be and reassembled the gun. I made a quick phone call to HK about this to see if it was just something normal that the p30sk does.

They stated that they have been having issues with the spring not staying captured, but if you can push it back together and reassemble the gun it will run fine. They asked me to take some pictures of the the recoil system and that they would like for me to send it back in and they would give me a new one. The gentlemen on the phone said that they don't really know whats going on with the springs but they are trying to figure out a way to correct it.

By the way HK customer service was great as usual. Has anyone else had this issue? If so call HK and let them know about it, they made it sound like they would like to get the recoil system back in to resolve the issues.

Even though mine was not captured it still ran 350 rounds perfectly fine so I am inclined to say that if you can get it back together it should run ok, at least thats what HK thought too but they still want the spring.

    Thanks for the heads up!
I've got a pretty new P30sk (same recoil spring system, eh?) with only 200 rounds through it.......will have to keep an eye on that.

What is the date code on your pistol?

Just put 500 Winchester 124gr NATO rounds through the new P30SK. Will have to check the recoil spring assembly

yup if it is, take a pic of it and send a email to HK. They will appreciate it and get you a new spring, with a return label for the old one.

I was wondering how long that would last. The 4 punch marks on the tube didn't seem like it would hold up. I still like the USP c clip design.

Is the recoil spring assembly not the exact same part as the HKP2000sk?
Those never seem to have had a problem?

Mine is a BF with 700 rds thru her and no issues thankfully.
Will keep an extra eye open for that now.

I would post a picture of the spring but it's not allowing me to.
