It has night sights and a extra mag. It your only using it at the range you might not need night sights.
Extra mags are nice. I have seen some pretty good deal on the non LE guns on gunbroker. The money you save can buy extra ammor and a good holster.
    good luck

Umm.... Just wondering if this is even a real thread.
Pros:affordable, ergonomic, accurate, really awesome trigger and of course it's an HK so nothing else needs said. Go get it, u'll only regret not getting it sooner.

I can assure you this is a "real" thread. I'm just interested in opinions. I know most people love them, also I'd like to know what things are not liked.

My only complain is, I constantly run out of 9mm ammo to shoot.
    My friend told me.

    Honestly,

The only pro is the night sights. Mags are no longer made of unobtanium so the extra mag isn't that big of a deal unless you want to run competitions (most normal folks don't seem to EDC with 2 spare mags).

Some would argue that there are "better" after market sights available. If you like meprolights then go LE. If you like something else than go standard and get the night sights you want. Heck there's a guy on here @TooSixy that will install them for you for free! https://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-handgu...n-members.html

I actually like the standard chargable sights so my opinion my be invalid...

I only have night sights on the one gun that I actually think I might need them on. I don't like night sights because you're buying something that will stop working and have to be replaced in 10 years. Plus if you only shoot during the daytime, they are not as bright as the regular HK sights.
Forget the fancy colors, short slide, long slide, and optics cut, I just want a VP9 with a darn mag release button!

Actually 10 years for night sights means that it hits it's half-life at that mark. They will glow somewhat beyond the 10yr mark.

    Con's?...there's LOTS of 'em.

    - They shut down in the presence of water (source: MAC video)
    - They are a terrible impact weapon as the mag release breaks when thrown against steel a half dozen times (source: MAC video)
    - Cocking supports obstruct my operational field of view of operations (source: internet)
    - No second-strike capability on striker (source: internet)
    - Hammer-fired is more gooder (source: internet)
    - Won't hold more than 15 rounds without modification; no jetfunnel :(
    - Visually displeasing (rail chin, misaligned slide, and other fugly stuff)
    - $100 more than a Glock
    - Serious lack of aftermarket junk parts to keep me busy ruining the integrity of the gun
    - The TRS and trigger bar spring are bad (source: gunsmiths offering $500 trigger packages for this and rival platforms)

Pros: Vp9 is the best shooting polymer gun on the market. The Meps are great nights sights and allow you to rack your slide off of almost anything. Much better than the factory sights in my opinion. You also get an extra mag and Vp9 mags are hard to find and can be expensive compared to some other polymer guns..

Cons: don't throw it at steel targets and cake mud all throughout the internals.. it may not fire if you do that..
